Firm data web service: Attribution statement
The Solicitors Regulation Authority operates a web service offering third parties access to a range of data that we hold about the firms that we authorise and regulate. The data is obtained directly from those firms and can be accessed by third parties either in full, or part, who can use it for any lawful purpose.
The data that is included in the web service is updated every 24 hours and consists of the following:
- SRA number (for the firm and any offices)
- Office name
- Current licence (e.g. Recognised Body, Licensed Body etc.)
- Office type (e.g. head office or branch)
- Business type (law practice)
- Constitution type (e.g. LLP, partnership etc.)
- Practising address(es)
- Postal address(es)
- Business email address(es)
- Telephone number(s)
- Website addresses(es)
- Are they authorised
- Authorisation date
- Authorisation status date
- Whether they are freelance
- Regulator (SRA or another approved legal service regulator)
- Trading Names
- Previous Names
- Areas of Law they practice
- The reserved activities they practice
- Company Registration Number
- Number of Offices
We also provide third parties with a means to access the date and time of dataset production.

You should use a formulation such as the following for this purpose:
