Simulated Annealing for Location Area Planning in Cellular networks

LA planning in cellular network is useful for minimizing location management cost in GSM network. In fact, size of LA can be optimized to create a balance between the LA update rate and expected paging rate within LA. To get optimal result for LA planning in cellular network simulated annealing algorithm is used. Simulated annealing give optimal results in acceptable run-time.Comment: 7 Pages, JGraph-Hoc Journa

Human-centric light sensing and estimation from RGBD images: the invisible light switch

Lighting design in indoor environments is of primary importance for at least two reasons: 1) people should perceive an adequate light; 2) an effective lighting design means consistent energy saving. We present the Invisible Light Switch (ILS) to address both aspects. ILS dynamically adjusts the room illumination level to save energy while maintaining constant the light level perception of the users. So the energy saving is invisible to them. Our proposed ILS leverages a radiosity model to estimate the light level which is perceived by a person within an indoor environment, taking into account the person position and her/his viewing frustum (head pose). ILS may therefore dim those luminaires, which are not seen by the user, resulting in an effective energy saving, especially in large open offices (where light may otherwise be ON everywhere for a single person). To quantify the system performance, we have collected a new dataset where people wear luxmeter devices while working in office rooms. The luxmeters measure the amount of light (in Lux) reaching the people gaze, which we consider a proxy to their illumination level perception. Our initial results are promising: in a room with 8 LED luminaires, the energy consumption in a day may be reduced from 18585 to 6206 watts with ILS (currently needing 1560 watts for operations). While doing so, the drop in perceived lighting decreases by just 200 lux, a value considered negligible when the original illumination level is above 1200 lux, as is normally the case in offices

As a business entity, Cooperation still faces fundamental problems such as lacking of financial support institutions that fully owned by Cooperation. Nowadays, there are financial institutions dealing with Cooperation such as BUKOPIN. However, the financial institution is not fully owned by Cooperation. Although the Bank was initiated by Cooperation, the institution have been transferred to be a private Bank. Therefore, it is important to initiate a financial institution owned by Cooperation by integrating units of savings and loans into a Cooperation Bank. If it can be done, then the bargaining position of Cooperation in the financial field will be stronger, and pride of Cooperation can be maintained

Links Between Physical and Mental Health: Assessment of Therapeutic Riding’s Effect on Children with Special Needs

    Get PDF
This observational study examined the effect of therapeutic riding (TR) on four domains, physical skills, positive values, social skills, and self-identity in children with special needs. Participants were recruited from SARI Therapeutic Riding and were divided, based on observation, into more or less severe diagnosis categories. It was predicted that children with less severe diagnosis would show more of an increase on the four domains, especially physical skills due to TR. Participants were observed using an observational checklist at pre- and post-riding lessons. Results showed non-significant differences in all four domains, however, there was a tendency for scores to increase from pre- to post-observations. Furthermore, statistically significant overall effects were found between sessions, for diagnoses, in all four domains, p \u3c .006. It can be concluded that TR has some beneficial effects on the positive values, social skills, self-identity, and physical skills of children with special needs, although not significant

Free-radical chain reactions of organic mercury and tin compounds

Alkylmercury halides (RHgX, R = n-butyl, n-hexyl, (DELTA)(\u273)-butenyl, (DELTA)(\u275)-hexenyl, isopropyl, cyclohexyl, cyclopentylcarbinyl and 7-norbornyl) rapidly react with PhYYPh (Y = S, Se and Te), p-MeC(,6)H(,4)SO(,2)SePh, PhSO(,2)Cl, PhSH and BrCCl(,3) under sunlamp irradiation to give RYPh, RCl, RH and RBr, respectively. The reaction is completely inhibited by di-tert-butyl nitroxide, does not occur in the dark and yields a mixture of cyclopentylcarbinyl and (DELTA)(\u275)-hexenyl products from the (DELTA)(\u275)-hexenylmercurial. The reaction is believed to proceed via a radical chain mechanism involving R(.) and Hg(III) intermediates. The alkyl radical (R(.)) undergoes S(,H)(\u272) or atom transfer reactions with the substrate and the resulting radical (PhY(.), PhSO(,2)(.) or (.)CCl(,3)) reacts with RHgX to form the Hg(III) intermediate which then eliminates R(.). A similar mechanism is proposed for the reaction of dialkylmercurials (R(,2)Hg, R = n-butyl, isobutyl and (DELTA)(\u275)-hexenyl) with PhSSPh and PhSeSePh. However, benzylmercurials (PhCH(,2)HgQ, Q = Cl and PhCH(,2)) react with phenyl dichalcogenide differently from other alkylmercurials, in that bibenzyl is formed in a chain reaction. Bibenzyl is also the product of the photostimulated chain decomposition of PhCh(,2)HgQ (Q = PhCH(,2) and PhS). Evidence is presented that the reaction of benzylmercurials proceeds by a free radical chain mechanism involving S(,H)(\u272) attack of the benzyl radical at the benzyl mercury bond;Tri-n-butyl-1-alkenyltin compounds containing a (beta)-phenyl substituent, PhCH=CHSnBu(,3) and Ph(,2)C=CHSnBu(,3), undergo a photostimulated reaction with 2(DEGREES)- or 3(DEGREES)-alkylmercurials to give PhCH=CHR and Ph(,2)C=CHR, Bu(,3)SnCl and Hg(0). The reaction was established to proceed via a radical chain process involving (alpha)-addition of the alkyl radical followed by (beta)-elimination of Bu(,3)Sn(.) and electron transfer from the tin-centered radical to the alkylmercurials. The reaction has been successfully extended to other (beta)-substituted styrenes, PhCH=CHQ (Q = I, PhSO(,2), HgCl and PhS) where Q(.) can be reacted with RHgX to generate R(.). In addition, PhCH=CHSnBu(,3) reacts with CCl(,3)Z (Z = Cl, Br and SO(,2)Cl) under UV irradiation to give exclusively PhCH=CHCCl(,3). Similarly, 1-alkenyltin derivatives with or without a (beta)-phenyl substituent, react with sulfur-centered radicals (PhS(.), PhCH(,2)S(.), PhSO(,2)S(.) and p-MePhSO(,2)(.)) derived from the reaction of Bu(,3)Sn(.) with PhSSPh, PhCH(,2)SSCH(,2)Ph, PhSO(,2)Cl or p-MeC(,6)H(,4)SO(,2)SePh to give the corresponding sulfides and sulfones in excellent yields
