A Novel Data Engineering Process Which Integrates Alert Information, Security Logs, And SOC Analysts
We build up a user centric ML system for the cyber security operation center in endeavor environment. We examine the regular data sources in SOC, their work process, and how to leverage and procedure these data sets to construct an effective ML system. The work is besieged towards two groups of readers. The primary group is data scientists or ML researchers who do not have cyber security domain awareness but want to build ML systems for safety operations center. The second group of people is those cyber security practitioners who have deep information and expertise in cyber security, but do not have ML knowledge and wish to construct one by them. All through the work, we use the system we built in the Symantec SOC construction setting as an example to display the full steps from data collection, label creation, feature engineering, ML algorithm selection, and model show evaluations, to risk score making

Steady state, relaxation and first-passage properties of a run-and-tumble particle in one-dimension
We investigate the motion of a run-and-tumble particle (RTP) in one
dimension. We find the exact probability distribution of the particle with and
without diffusion on the infinite line, as well as in a finite interval. In the
infinite domain, this probability distribution approaches a Gaussian form in
the long-time limit, as in the case of a regular Brownian particle. At
intermediate times, this distribution exhibits unexpected multi-modal forms. In
a finite domain, the probability distribution reaches a steady state form with
peaks at the boundaries, in contrast to a Brownian particle. We also study the
relaxation to the steady state analytically. Finally we compute the survival
probability of the RTP in a semi-infinite domain. In the finite interval, we
compute the exit probability and the associated exit times. We provide
numerical verifications of our analytical results
Malignant melanoma of breast: a case report
Malignant melanoma rarely affects the breast. Malignant melanoma of breast is divided into two categories: primary and metastatic lesions. Primary melanoma involves the skin and less commonly the glandular parenchyma of the breast. Differentiating them is very important in deciding on treatment strategies. This case report aims to increase awareness of unusual neoplasms of the breast which requires a different surgical and adjuvant therapeutic approach
Histološke i biokemijske promjene u jetri i bubrezima štakora izazvane torijevim nitratom
The histopathological and biochemical alterations in rat\u27s liver and kidney induced by daily intraperitoneal administration of thorium nitrate were studied. The activity of alkaline phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase was found to be inhibited at various intervals and the pathomorphological changes were found to be related to the duration of treatment. The results indicate that the effect of thorium is cumulative and that the biochemical alterations occur prior to histological changes.
Energy and Link Quality Based Routing for Data Gathering Tree in Wireless Sensor Networks Under TINYOS - 2.X
Energy is one of the most important and scarce resources in Wireless Sensor
Networks (WSN). WSN nodes work with the embedded operating system called
TinyOS, which addresses the constrains of the WSN nodes such as limited
processing power, memory, energy, etc and it uses the collection Tree Protocol
(CTP) to collect the data from the sensor nodes. It uses either the four-bit
link estimation or Link Estimation Exchange Protocol (LEEP) to predict the bi
directional quality of the wireless link between the nodes and the next hop
candidate is based on the estimated link quality. The residual energy of the
node is an important key factor, which plays a vital role in the lifetime of
the network and hence this has to taken as one of the metric in the parent
selection. In this work, we consider the remaining energy of the node as one of
the metric to decide the parent in addition to the link quality metrics. The
proposed protocol was compared with CTP protocol in terms of number of packets
forwarded by each node and packet reception ratio (PRR) of the network. This
work was simulated in TOSSIM simulator and the same was tested in Crossbow IRIS
radio test bed. The results show that our algorithm performs better than CTP in
terms of load distribution and hence the increased lifetimeComment: 14 Pages, IJWM
Chiral spin textures creation and dynamics in a rectangular nanostructure
Controlled creation of stable chiral spin textures is required to use them as
an energy-efficient information carrier in spintronics. Here we have studied
the stable creation of isolated chiral spin texture (skyrmion and antiskyrmion)
and its pair through the magnetization reversal of a rectangular nanostructure
using spin-polarized currents. An isolated spin texture is created through a
negative current pulse. Dynamics of the stable spin texture are explored under
external magnetic fields, and the resonant frequencies are calculated. A stable
skyrmion pair is created using an asymmetric current pulse, and their
interaction is studied using the Thiele equation. The stability of isolated or
paired spin texture depends on the DMI strength, spin-polarized current
density, and pulse duration. In addition, the stability of the skyrmion pair
depends on their initial separation, and a threshold for the separation between
skyrmions of 78 nm is observed.Comment: 29 pages, 11 figures, 2 extra figure
Primary monophasic synovial sarcoma, a rare pulmonary mesenchymal neoplasm: report of a case with review of literature
Synovial sarcoma is an uncommon malignant soft tissue tumour which occurs primarily in young adults. It most commonly occurs in the extremities near large joints, particularly the knee joint. Primary pulmonary synovial sarcoma has only occasionally been reported in the literature. We report a case of primary pulmonary monophasic synovial sarcoma in a 23 year old male patient presenting with recent onset of hemoptysis, cough and expectoration. Although an uncommon primary site, the characteristic histological and immunohistochemical features, and fluorescence in situ hybridization analysis for the characteristic (X;18) translocation, with thorough clinical and imaging correlation allowed a definitive diagnosis of primary pulmonary monophasic sarcoma. The mainstay of treatment for these unusual tumours remains complete surgical excision followed by adjuvant radiation and/or chemotherapy
Consumption of Commercial Dietary Products over Natural Diet – Impact in COVID Pandemic
Background: An adequate intake of essential minerals like selenium, iron, and zinc and the vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, and B12 are crucial to maintaining a healthy immune function. Commercial dietary products containing a mixture of some of the above-mentioned; nutrients may suffice the specific requirements in definitive groups of populations. The comprehensive impact on the Indian population with consumption of commercial dietary products in addition to natural dietary products; during the Corona Virus Disease (COVID) pandemic was assessed in this study.
Methods: A cross-sectional & observational study was conducted in a group of 3699 subjects, who attended the COVID OP Department at Sri Venkateswara RamaNarayana Ruia Government General Hospital, Tirupati from the period of August and September 2020. The subjects were randomly selected and a questionnaire was posed. The data collected were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. The data regarding natural dietary products were obtained from Indian Food Composition Tables.
Results: The percentage of the population consuming commercial dietary products in addition to natural dietary products was 15.865%. Commonly used natural dietary products by the population were egg& milk products, vegetables followed by fruits. In our study, a significant association between gender and consumption of commercial dietary products was noted. Natural products like grains were rich in zinc, calcium while animal meat was rich in proteins, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, folic acid.
Conclusions: The usage of commercial dietary products in addition to natural dietary products can be recommended in specified population groups. The consumption of commercial dietary products in addition to natural dietary products was significant concerning the female gender
A Prototype System using Lexical Chains for Web Images Retrieval Based on Text Description and Visual Features
Abstract--Content Based Image Retrieval, in the current scenario has not been analyzed adequate in the existing system. Here, we implement a prototype system for web based image retrieval. The system is based on description of images by lexical chains which are extracted from text related images in a web page. In this paper, we provide Relevance Feedback (RF) techniques that aim to the real world user requirements. The relevance feedback techniques, based on image text description are expanded to support image retrieval by combining textual and visual features. All the feedback techniques are implemented and compared with precision and recall criteria. The experimental results prove that retrieval methods that makes use of both text and visual features achieve overall better results than methods based only on image’s text description
