Firm letter of regulatory standing
You may need a firm letter of regulatory standing if your firm plans to open a new branch or head office in another jurisdiction.
What you get
The letter will state:
- the name of your firm
- your firm's SRA number
- that your firm is regulated by us
- whether your firm has been the subject of an application to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, or one of its current members, partners or directors during their time at the firm.
Who can apply
The authorised signatory or organisation contact of a firm can apply for a firm letter of regulatory standing.
Fee
There is no fee for a firm letter of regulatory standing.
Before applying
- Check that the firm you are requesting a letter of regulatory standing for is regulated by us.
- Note that we can only accept requests for a firm letter of regulatory standing from the authorised signatory or the organisation contact of the firm.
