Former solicitor whose name has been struck off the roll
If you are a former solicitor whose name has been struck off the roll, you must apply to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT), to have your name restored to the roll. An application must be made on the prescribed form which is available on the SDT's website.
If your name has been removed from the roll for any other reason
Step by step guide
Already have a mySRA account
- You must complete a screening process before you can apply to be restored to the roll.
- If you have been admitted anywhere else, you will need to upload a certificate of good standing from that jurisdiction in English. The certificate(s) must be less than three months old (we recommend that the date of issue is no longer than two months on the date you make your application).
- You will need to tell us why you wish to be restored to the roll.
- You will need to tell us if you require a practising certificate.
- Before you apply make sure you update your personal and professional details.
Activating a mySRA account
If you have never accessed your account before, you will need to activate your account. To do this, you will need a valid activation code. Find out how to request an activation code.
Payment
- The fee is £20.
- We accept all major credit and debit cards.
What happens
- Your application is only saved when you have clicked on save and continue at the end of each section.
- You can keep track of your submitted applications by checking the 'Actions' tab in mySRA.
- We will email you when we have made a decision.
