Professional Skills Course requirements
September 2021
Candidates can only qualify through this route if they meet our transitional requirements.
If they do not meet these, they will need to qualify under the SQE.
Trainees should ideally attend and successfully complete the Professional Skills Course (PSC) during the period of recognised training. However, trainees can still be admitted if they do the course after their training.
The course is offered by authorised providers, on an external or in-house basis. The PSC guidelines give full details of the course content and the authorisation requirements. You must pay for a trainee's first attempt and reasonable expenses.
Your organisation is not required to allow time off for study of the PSC, but you may wish to consider whether to offer paid study leave.
